This year's twelfth, Christmas,
issue of Matica magazine came off the
presses in mid December, as usual featuring
an abundance of fascinating articles
from the homeland and abroad.
In the latest issue read all about the
elections for Croatian Parliament in
late 2011, about the 40th anniversary
of Vienna's own Kolo-Slavuj Gradišće
Croat folklore ensemble, the CrOz Australian-Croatian
festival staged in Melbourne, the celebration
of major Croatian anniversaries in Rotterdam
and much more. We also feature interviews
with maestro Siniša Leopold, the conductor
of the Croatian Radio & Television
Tamburitza Orchestra and with Mijo Marić,
the president of the German chapter
of the Croatian World Congress.
Dear Matica magazine
readers in the homeland and around
the world, it is in your interest
and ours that our monthly records
every notable event from the places
you live. We invite you, therefore,
to work with us. Write us news items
and send photos—work with us in creating
the content of Matica magazine, by
writing about what you would like
to read about. Let's make Matica a
real bridge of Croatian unity.
The next issue of Matica will be available
in February as an expanded winter
double issue for the months of January
and February.
The Matica editorial board joins CHF
director Katarina Fuček in extending
our best wishes this Christmas. You
can read her season's greetings in
this issue. Merry Christmas and all
the best in 2012!
