Canadian Croatians in Split again |

After last month's Croatian tour by the Mississauga Croatia soccer club's junior side, we have been joined now by their somewhat older club members.
Accompanied by their families they visited many places in Croatia, from Vukovar to Split where they stayed ten days, and played a number of matches. They played with Dinamo in Zagreb and in Slavonski brod, Zadar, Međugorje, Stari Grad on the island of Hvar and in Čavoglave for Homeland Thanksgiving Day. The tour wrapped up on 12 August in Split with a match against the Hajduk FC cadets at Poljud stadium.
The match closed with socialising and cheering for the Croatian national team as they played their match against Belarus. The older members of the club sang and recalled the times when Hajduk FC players like Ante Ivković, now secretary of the Hajduk Youth School, which played host to the tour in Split, came to play for the Croatia Toronto team.
