Split's hagiographic heritage


Split & Makarska Archbishop monsignor Marin Barišić said that this research symposium aimed to shed light on the broad and deep area of the deeds of Sts Domnius and Anastasia. The two-day research gathering is part of the Book of the Mediterranean 2011 international research and culture event.

Dužijanca harvest festival on postal stamps


On 1 July the Serbian postal service presented a new stamp in the city of Subotica featuring the Dužijanca harvest festival—a symbol of Bačka region Croatians. To mark the one-hundredth anniversary of this religious harvest festival the stamp depicts museum exhibits of a straw crown and a model of Subotica's Cathedral of St Teresa of Ávila.

Željka Lovrenčić's latest book available


Literary Reviews and Other Writings, the latest book by the head of the Croatica Abroad collection at the National & University Library in Zagreb, brings together texts that treat both Croatian and Spanish studies issues, and issues concerning the Croatian emigrant communities, and describe events related to the promotion of these two literatures and cultures.

Miroslav Radman's latest book a hit in France


In his book, released in France on 1 June by publisher Le Plon, Radman speaks of life and death, research and researchers with a great dose of criticism and of the spirit of the times in which we live, underlining the need to emancipate ourselves in relation to our biological limitations and in relation to tradition, which we nurture like a parasite that thwarts development.
