Croatia's top athlete Blanka Vlašić is the winner of the fourth international Slobodna Dalmacija jump meet. She cleared 203 centimetres before a crowd of 12 thousand at Split's Spaladium Arena, setting a new meet record.
Top Croatian skier Ivica Kostelić picked up the silver medal in the Super Combined event at the Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver. Kostelić repeated his success four years ago in Turin when he also won the silver medal in the combined event.
Almost a year to the day since his bronze medal at the World Championships in Pyeongchang in the 20 kilometre race, Fak has won his second medal at a major competition. This is the eighth Winter Olympic medal for Croatian athletes overall, and the first that was not won in downhill skiing. Medals have been won so far by Janica Kostelić (six) and Ivica Kostelić (one).

Martić, who is appearing in the Paris tournament as the result of having been offered an invitation from the organisers, ousted the tournament's third seed and world number 15 Yanina Wickmayer of Belgium, in the first round of play.
Croatian tennis player Karolina Šprem advanced to the second round of play at the WTA tournament in Paris. After successfully completing the qualification cycle Šprem defeated her first round opponent Timea Bacsinszky of Switzerland 7:5, 6:1, in just one hour and 10 minutes of play.
