To the Diaspora with Love Exhibition Opens at the CHF

Every year sees a growing number of featured artists. This is an opportunity for emigrants visiting the Croatian Heritage Foundation to learn more about the homeland through the exhibited art.

The 6th of July saw the third group exhibition at the Croatian Heritage Foundation under the To the Diaspora with Love moniker. The event showcases sixty-four works of art in various techniques.

The exhibition was organised by the Maksimir Centre for Culture and Information and the Croatian Heritage Foundation.

Exhibition organiser Nives Antoljak greeted the gathered noting that this was an event based now on collaboration among friends, this being the third annual exhibition at which people are gathering at the Croatian Heritage Foundation for an event on the wonderful theme of To the Diaspora with Love. Presenting the exhibition author she noted that this collaboration with the Maksimir Centre for Culture and Information would continue.

Vladimir Đerek, the head of the City of Zagreb amateur art programme and the exhibition author, spoke of the works presented.

Every year sees a growing number of featured artists and this is, says Đerek, an opportunity for emigrants visiting the Croatian Heritage Foundation to learn more about the homeland through the exhibited art.

Sebastian Dračić, a professor at the drawing and painting department of Zagreb's Academy of Fine Arts, noted that the idea behind the exhibition is to showcase works oriented towards landscapes and motifs specific to Croatia, although other individual approaches are also welcome.

Also on hand to welcome everyone was acting CHF director Mirjana Ana-Maria Piskulić. She spoke of how visiting emigrants would recognise in these works of art the love dedicated to them by their authors and the homeland.

Speaking from personal experience acting director Piskulić said this required particular love, passion and dedication. Love above all, which moves the world, added Ms Piskulić, in declaring the exhibition open.

The exhibition at the CHF will be open through to the end of August and features works of the members of art and amateur associations active in the city of Zagreb (Ama Artem, Amaciz, Grupa 69, Hld and LUA Angelico).
